Posted October 25, 2018 08:00:38 Israeli bridesmaids who went on to marry the country’s new president have been sharing their wedding photos with the world.
The most popular couples to date have all been brides of both sexes.
In a trend that has seen a surge in popularity, more and more Israeli bridal parties have been posting their wedding photographs on social media.
The new president, Reuven Rivlin, and his wife, Miriam, will hold their wedding at the Golan Heights in May.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on Israel’s Channel 10 news channel.
Miriam Rivlin is the first of the new bride-to-be couples to go public.
The 31-year-old mother-of-two has made a career out of her unconventional style, and she is a self-described “girly queen”.
In February, she posted a photograph on her Instagram account of herself in a wedding gown with the caption “Happiness in a dress.”
Miriam, a first-time bride, told Haaretz newspaper that she was not bothered by the attention she received for her photo.
“I didn’t even have to say anything, I am happy, happy, and proud.
I am a beautiful woman and I’m happy that I am able to express my happiness in a beautiful way,” she said.
The other couples are also happy about their weddings.
Sara Geva, 28, is a student at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
The former school teacher is married to an Israeli, and they are the first Israeli couples to marry on Israeli soil.
“It’s a big deal.
For me it’s a milestone, a big achievement.
It means that I have been able to experience something new,” she told Haews.”
We were all nervous, but when the cameras came on, we felt we were on stage and everyone was happy.
It was amazing.”
The wedding reception for the first couple will take place in Golan in May, and the second will be held in the United States.
